THE ONE WITH MAVERICK WITH MY MAVERICK

"Talk to me Goose"

Remember that time when people were going to movie theatres, hyped to see the new box office hit, and cheering and clapping at the end?

That's what it was like this weekend going to see the new "Top Gun: Maverick" movie.

It's been a hot minute since theatres were full and people were excited about a new movie.

And this one was GOOD!! If you haven't seen it yet, GO SEE IT!! It most definitely lived up to the hype and is the best movie I have seen in a very long time!

Coach and I saw it twice.

The first time was just he and I on Saturday night, the second time was Monday with his kids. We both cried, if you've seen it you know why, haha!

My boys saw it with their dad, but would like to go again, lol!

Coach sort of has this whole Maverick vibe about him and has been called Maverick in the past and it's very attractive!

He and I spent the weekend together, and it was nothing short of amazing as usual.

I tagged along to some baseball games he was coaching on Saturday, and then we were able to grab dinner and a movie after.

Sunday was a lazy morning. Waking up next to someone that is so kind and gentle with your heart is probably one of the best feelings in the world.

We worked out together, hot tubbed, grabbed lunch with some of his friends, met his mom at the graveyard, and then had dinner with another few of his friends.

Coach opened up to me this weekend about losing his dad 9 years ago on Father's Day.

He loved his dad. His dad was the type of person everybody loved and had nothing but good things to say about.

Like father like son.

He wishes his dad could be around to watch his grandkids grow up and play sports.

Coach said to me after this day, "It's so nice bringing you around my friends cause you're just fun and cool and they all really like you!"

One of his friends told me that he had told Coach to marry me the moment we met after he heard what a huge football fan I was, haha!

Coach has the kind of friends that treat each other like family, and I know I've said this before, but they are amazing people.

Our last day together this weekend was Monday. Another lazy morning, drinking hot chai and chilling on the couch telling stories.

Stories that aren't always easy to talk about.

Stories that stir up some past feelings and emotions.

Stories that break our hearts.

Stories that bring up parent guilt and divorce guilt.

Stories that know you can't share with everyone, and only with those you feel safe around.

Coach makes me feel safe. Coach knows how to really listen. Coach knows how to show he genuinely cares. Coach knows how to have empathy.

Coach is amazing. And we both made sure we told each other multiple times how much we love and care about each other this weekend.

It feels really good to love someone this much.

And it feels really good to be this loved.
