THE ONE WITH DAVID'S DAD

October 04, 2022 2 min read

David's dad is the type of man who you always hear stories about from those close to him.

Whether it's funny memories of him smoking the neighborhood out with his famous smoker skills, making jokes and teasing, his love for cars and how he'd spend hours at the race track, or his passion for the Utes and going to ball games.

David always talks about how his dad didn't have a lot of free time to spend doing these things he loved because he was always so busy coaching his kids sports and attending their games.

Sounds alot like someone else I know.

David also talks alot about his favorite memories with his dad were at Utah football games and the golf course.

He also broke down this weekend and said how much he wishes his dad could've met me.

His dad passed away nine years ago.

I broke down too and said I wished I could've met his dad too. It sounds like David's alot like his dad, so I'm sure we would've gotten along just fine.

The Utah football team has a new tradition that was put in place last year at every game at the end of the third quarter, where they hold a moment of loudness in remembrance of the players they lost last year, and anyone else in the Ute family that's no longer with us.

They also have asked any fans to submit photos of loved ones that have passed on and they put together a slide show on the jumbotron during this moment of loudness.

David's dad made it to the game last Saturday and was a part of the slide show.

It was a good thing we were both wearing sunglasses cause by did our eyes get sweaty. And I loved hearing David talk about his dad over the weekend. Just another moment that brought us even closer.

I wish his dad could watch his amazing son coach his own kids in all their sports, raising them to be good human beings, and living a life full of love and happiness.

There's something so therapeutic about making loud noises and shouting up to the heavens.

If you are needing a dose of that, I encourage you to give it a try. Let your voice be heard, emotions out, honor those you've lost or traumas you may be experiencing, or even just the joy you feel in your life and shout it up to the sky!

Love and hugs to you all!
