My boys dad has been really great at making sure my boys are prepared for holidays like Mother's Day and took them shopping for a gift for me.
I'm lucky he does that, and my boys were SO excited to shower me with love and give me my gift that day.
I love spending time with my boys, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I also love my kid free time.
Coach came up and grabbed for a morning hike on Mother's Day.
It was the perfect quick little sneak away together before we'd be spending the rest the day with our families.
I was surprised when I opened up my front door and saw Coach standing there with a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers and a gift card to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
I'm not even his mom! I told him it was totally unnecessary for him to do all that.
His response, "Well you are just a really amazing mom and person and need to know that and deserve to be celebrated and spoiled!"
Ummmm ok. I hugged him and almost cried. He's the BEST!!
I took him to a hike just 10 minutes from my house. The mountains are basically in my backyard and I love where I live!
The hike was perfect, it was great weather and we just enjoyed being together talking and laughing!
Afterwards we went through a quick drive thru to get a drink and a quick bite.
Being my typical self, I somehow managed to spill my drink in his car and as I was cleaning it up I handed my drink to him, and as he was also trying to clean it up he spilled it again too.
We both ended up laughing hysterically at the ridiculousness of the situation, haha!
Moments like this are my favorite.
Find yourself someone you can laugh with, be weird and goofy with, and enjoy the everyday mundane moments of life with. Although, it's only mundane if you make it mundane. Perspective, right?
We ended up at my moms house for a bit with my boys, sitting on her back patio making plans to take a weekend trip to SoCal....just the two of us.
I am REALLY looking forward to that this summer!
I am so lucky to have this man in my life. He takes care of me more than anyone ever has and it just feels really good.
